US Vice President Kamala Harris and actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared their affiliations with India and discussed a wide range of issues including marriage, pay equality and climate change. Actress and producer Priyanka, now living in Los Angeles, was invited by the Women's Leadership Forum of the Democratic National Committee to interview Vice President Harris.
Priyanka is now staying in America after her marriage to singer Nick Jonas. The actress started her interview by talking both of us are associated with India. Priyanka said in the presence of some eminent people of the Democratic Party from across the country, 'I think in a way both of us are daughters of India.'
She said, 'You are a daughter of America, whose mother was Indian and father was from Jamaica. I am the daughter of an Indian parent who recently shifted to this country.
The actress said that for the first time after working for 20 years, She got paid equal to male artist. She also talked about equality in work and married life. At the same time, Harris also recognized that we are living in an unstable world. She said, 'I have been traveling around the world as a Vice President and talked to so many world leaders over the phone.
