A magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit the east of the South Sandwich Islands region at a depth of 10 kilometers, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said on Thursday.
No tsunami warning was issued, USGS added.
An Earthquake of magnitude 7.0 struck at the South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands at 8.33 Am on Thursday. The depth of this Earthquake, according to the National Centre for Seismology, was 10 kilometers below ground.
